This one is a bit different but if you have a household with women, young girls or are friends with any then this post could be helpful, even if it doesn’t directly apply to you.

For less than $50 you can make resources available to any menstruating person in your home and it’s not even that hard, I’ll show you how to do it all on Amazon.

First is the why. While approximately half of the population is female, there are a few dozen years when folks deal with a monthly cycle which requires supplies and a huge stigma when it comes to talking about it. So consider this your crash course, whether you have a younger sister, girlfriend, preteen daughter or you’re just a decent human person.

Consider this another item which you need to stock, just like hand soap or shampoo. While we hope everyone uses soap, just because not everyone needs products for menstruation, doesn’t mean we don’t buy them for those who do.

Second, I acknowledge it can be weird to shop for these items and even women I know will buy other, unnecessary, items at the store to “hide” their purchases because if you go into a store and come out with tampons, chocolate and pads, you might as well be wearing a sign. So we’re going to do this shopping online because the shipping will be discrete and you’ll have less stress.

For under $20 you can get nearly 100 tampons here – the important part is that this is a variety pack so there are different options. It’s a little harder to find a variety pack of pads but for $35 you can get over 200 pads here.

Simply buy these online and then unbox them and put them under your bathroom sink when they arrive. Finally for your bathroom needs, make sure that every bathroom has a lined trash can. If you’re super cheap, go to the nearest IKEA and pick up their black or white plastic cans for $2/ea.

If you have a young person in the house, I highly suggest making this portable packs using these bags which will easily hold 2-4 of each size tampon and pad and are discrete and easy to carry. They look a little bit like a makeup bag too.

Feel free to send this post to a friend or family member who has never considered stocking their bathrooms like this and remember that while it may feel awkward to talk about, literally millions of folks deal with this every day and it’s totally normal, even if we don’t acknowledge it.
