I live in the hope that the perfect cleaning journal set up will somehow motivate me to clean the house more often.
Which is… insane but it is what it is.

I kept a pretty simple cleaning page in 2025 and tracked if a chore got done that month. What I do like about this tracker is I can see if it’s been six months since I fully scrubbed the bathroom or cleaned out the freezer.

When I was setting up 2026, I made a rookie error in my spacing and had to pivot. Hence my new layout design with the chores in the middle, January to June on the left and July to December tracking on the right.

One of the daily habits that I have set recently is to do one cleaning task per day, so having a handy list of what I’d like to get done monthly and haven’t done yet makes it easier to see what I need to do.

Note: I’ll add a caveat for the people who are prone to comment, “you ONLY wash your sink once a month? EWWW!”
These tasks are my heavy duty, deep cleaning tasks. If the fridge needs a wipe down it happens the same day, once a month everything comes out, drawers get a deep clean, etc.
