I don’t know the first place where I heard this term but I love it! “Future Me” are the longer-term projects that you want to complete someday but not necessarily today or this week.

Sometimes these projects are a bit ‘pie-in-the-sky’ and will definitely shift over time. For example, when I owned my first home I wanted to replace the sliding glass door in my master bedroom. I never ended up doing that project but it would have lived on a Future Me list, for sure.

I like this idea because my brain has a lot of ideas but I would not want to rewrite this list every month and move tasks from journal to journal. It’s also a great resource when you want to spend a week addressing these bigger projects and getting ahead. Projects can also be completed by crossing them off and deciding not to do them after all.

This is my first year including this in my journal and here’s how it looks:

I started this list in my iPhone Notes app so that I can add things as they come to mind and get things out of my head. Because I am hoping to get some of my projects completed, it will remain empty until January when I start populating the list.

Right now it’s looking pretty blank so I’m considering adding some symbols as I go, I’ve seen people track how many hours they think this project will take (or days!) or create little logos by location (computer job, house or yard, work, etc).

I may come back and update this one as I decide what Future Me goals I’ll be adding.
